Emergency services were called to the scene near the Fox Inn and petrol station just after 9.40am.

A woman pedestrian was in collision with a car and left with serious injuries and had to be airlifted to hospital.

Police immediately closed the A448 in both directions between Rowberrys Nurseries and the Mustow Green.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 9:40am to reports of an RTC involving a vehicle and pedestrian at the junction of Fox Lane and the A448 in Chaddesley Corbett.

“We sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer, the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham and a BASICS trauma doctor.

“We have treated the pedestrian, a woman, for serious injuries and she’s been conveyed to hospital for further treatment.”

After the road closure, there were long tailbacks in both directions, stretching as far back as the Mustow Green island.
