Warning issued to every iPhone owner to ignore update

A warning has been issued to every iPhone user over a new update. But people are being told to ignore it.

The new iOS system is being rolled out, with iPhone users urged to avoid updating their phones just yet. The new operating system will be revealed in full in September.

But before that, Apple is set to let loose a public beta version. In July, the new beta version goes live – with people able to test it out before the launch in September.

“New public betas for iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS Ventura, tvOS 16, HomePod software version 16 and watchOS 9 are coming soon,” Apple said. “As a member of the Apple Beta Software Program, you can take part in shaping Apple software by test-driving pre-release versions and letting us know what you think.”

People have been warned the new changes won’t be for everybody though. Some apps may not load, your battery could be drained or your phone may overheat.

There have been complaints previously about the podcast app draining people’s batteries after they updated their iOS. iOS 16 is compatible with these devices: iPhone 13 iPhone 13 mini iPhone 13 Pro iPhone 13 Pro Max iPhone 12 iPhone 12 mini iPhone 12 Pro iPhone 12 Pro Max iPhone 11 iPhone 11 Pro iPhone 11 Pro Max iPhone XS iPhone XS Max iPhone XR iPhone X iPhone 8 iPhone 8 Plus iPhone SE (2nd generation or later).
