Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish is reportedly ‘close’ to moving to Manchester City.
Radio station talkSPORT has claimed that a £100 million transfer is close to completion and now ESPN are claiming that an agreement between Villa and City is nearing.
Grealish has been heavily linked with a move away from Villa this summer with Pep Guardiola said to be an admirer of the 25 year-old.
Guardiola is also in the market for a striker this summer and Harry Kane, the Tottenham Hotspur captain, is a target as City look to beef up their squad this summer after losing the Champions League final to Chelsea.

City are probably the only club who can afford to move for Grealish, who is away on international duty with England at the European Championships.
We bring the latest on Grealish here…
Who has been linked?
Man United had been credited with an interest last summer but they opted to move for Donny van de Beek at Ajax instead.
Man City, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have all been linked with Grealish as well and it looks like it will be Guardiola’s side who win the race if Grealish does decide to leave Villa.
What has Smith said?
Speaking to broadcaster Stadium Astro back in December, Villa head coach Dean Smith admitted that the club needed to continue on an upward trajectory in order for Grealish to remain there.
“If we don’t keep progressing and become a club that’s challenging in Europe then we probably won’t meet Jack’s ambitions and there will be a time where Jack looks elsewhere then,” Smith said.
“At the moment, he can see the progression at the football club and he wants to be a part of that.”
Agent speaks out
“The truth is we don’t know (what will happen),” Jonathan Barnett said in May. “There are many clubs (interested) and I wouldn’t put United at the top of that (list).
“But he could stay. He could stay as well so it’s a conversation the club, Villa, will have with Jack and ourselves then we’ll see where we go.
“He loves Villa but I think we just have to wait and see how things pan out.
“At the moment he is a Villa player and he has no thoughts about anything else.”
Smith responded to those comments at a press conference a few days later.
“I got told that someone from his agency had spoken about Jack,” Smith said.
“I’ve not risen to any speculation regarding Jack at all this season, he signed a brand new contract having seen the vision for the club from the owners at the start of the season.”
Villa’s stance explained
Villa do not need to sell given the wealth of owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens through their NSWE company.
The summer window is set up to be an ideal situation to take stock of what is needed to improve and they will be keen to hold onto their top talent and have already added Emiliano Buendia in a club-record deal from Norwich City.
Smith’s side will be looking to kick on next season and have already made a statement of intent in the transfer window by landing Buendia.
Key to their success next season will be keeping hold of Grealish.
