Police are hunting a gang who hacked at a young teenage boy with a machete in Birmingham city centre.
The 16-year-old was chased through the streets in a terrifying early hours attack at around 12.45am on Sunday, October 10.
West Midlands Police say the victim was hit around the head with a machete and has left been left with head injuries following the Queensway Priory attack.
Detectives have now launched an appeal to try and find the yobs who carried out the frightening attack.
Police believe he was chased by a group and then attacked with a machete.
A spokesman for the force said: “We’re investigating after a 16-year-old boy was found with head injuries in Priory Queensway, Birmingham, at just after 12.45am today (October 10).
“They boy is believed to have been chased by a group and then struck across the head with what’s thought to be a machete.
“He has been taken to hospital and fortunately his injuries are not life-threatening.”
Police are carrying out CCTV and other enquiries in the area to gather information and try to establish who was responsible.
They have also launched an appeal for anyone who witnessed the attack or has information about it to come forward.
