Boris Johnson will issue an update to the country tomorrow as we head towards July 19 when the majority of coronavirus restrictions are set to end.
A press conference will be held by the Prime Minister to inform everyone of the latest progress on Monday afternoon.
He is set to confirm his plans to “restore people’s freedoms” and announce the lifting of laws on wearing face masks will be scrapped.
Other measures which are likely to be confirmed tomorrow include the scrapping of the one-metre social distancing rule and the end of the advice to work at home.
The next steps for care home visits will also be discussed, according to The Mirror.
It comes as the government is also set to publish the findings of reviews into social distancing and vaccine passports.
The Prime Minister will formally confirm the plans on July 12, two weeks ahead of so-called ‘freedom day’ on July 19 as has become the new normal during the coronavirus pandemic.
But it is understood Boris wants to give businesses more information so they have more time to prepare.
More than half of the adult population – 63.4% – have received now two doses of a vaccination.
But there are still concerns about potential variants.
The UK reported another 24,248 coronavirus cases and 15 deaths today, according to daily government figures.
It compares with 24,855 cases and 18 deaths on Saturday, and 14,876 and 11 this time last week.
