© Reuters. U.S. stocks higher at close of trade; Dow Jones Industrial Average up 1.36% – U.S. stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in NYSE, the gained 1.36% to hit a new all time high, while the index climbed 1.05%, and the index added 0.69%.

The best performers of the session on the were Boeing Co (NYSE:), which rose 7.46% or 15.83 points to trade at 227.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Chevron Corp (NYSE:) added 4.01% or 4.00 points to end at 103.63 and Visa Inc Class A (NYSE:) was up 3.82% or 8.10 points to 220.21 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Home Depot Inc (NYSE:), which fell 2.41% or 6.45 points to trade at 260.79 at the close. Walmart Inc (NYSE:) declined 1.56% or 2.11 points to end at 133.36 and Amgen Inc (NASDAQ:) was down 1.15% or 2.67 points to 229.79.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd (NYSE:) which rose 9.22% to 31.26, Mosaic Co (NYSE:) which was up 8.74% to settle at 32.11 and Occidental Petroleum Corporation (NYSE:) which gained 8.79% to close at 28.35.

The worst performers were Verisk Analytics Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 9.15% to 168.40 in late trade, Macy’s Inc (NYSE:) which lost 4.25% to settle at 15.21 and Flowserve Corporation (NYSE:) which was down 3.31% to 38.24 at the close.

The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Sypris Solutions Inc (NASDAQ:) which rose 104.89% to 5.4500, Immunome Inc (NASDAQ:) which was up 63.91% to settle at 46.73 and 9F Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 32.78% to close at 2.39.

The worst performers were Constellation Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 25.78% to 26.95 in late trade, Overstockcom Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 17.25% to settle at 72.94 and Tuscan Holdings Corp (NASDAQ:) which was down 16.10% to 17.35 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 2228 to 901 and 47 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2409 rose and 811 declined, while 50 ended unchanged.

Shares in Mosaic Co (NYSE:) rose to 52-week highs; up 8.74% or 2.58 to 32.11. Shares in Chevron Corp (NYSE:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 4.01% or 4.00 to 103.63. Shares in Visa Inc Class A (NYSE:) rose to all time highs; gaining 3.82% or 8.10 to 220.21. Shares in Sypris Solutions Inc (NASDAQ:) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 104.89% or 2.7900 to 5.4500. Shares in Immunome Inc (NASDAQ:) rose to all time highs; up 63.91% or 18.22 to 46.73.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was down 5.97% to 21.73.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.40% or 7.25 to $1798.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 2.46% or 1.52 to hit $63.19 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 2.57% or 1.66 to trade at $66.14 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.2158, while USD/JPY rose 0.62% to 105.89.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 90.108.
