A woman fears that she may lose her job after upsetting her boss – by ‘killing’ one of her dogs.
Sharing her story anonymously, the woman said that her boss had two dogs – one small, the other much larger.
On one occasion, the boss tried to contact the woman as there was an emergency at work but she couldn’t get hold of her and had to go in herself – leaving the two dogs on their own.
Unfortunately, the larger dog killed the smaller pooch and the employer has blamed the woman ever since, and now she fears she may lose her job over the incident.

Taking to Reddit, the woman said: “I wasn’t on standby for anything, I was on designated off time.
“She left her small dog alone and her big dog killed her small dog.
“Her big dog has known aggression issues. My manager has complained about how she can’t have walkers over because that dog will attack them. She complained about how that dog tore apart her daughter’s hamster cage and tore the hamster apart.”
The woman said that her manager has blamed her for her dog’s death on more than one occasion, saying “because you didn’t answer your phone my dog is dead”.
She has tried to deal with the issue head-on, but when she did the manager got upset and angry, refusing to see sense.
The woman continued: “Since that conversation, she has been noticeably rude to me and other co-workers have told me about how she complains about me to other managers and co-workers.
“I haven’t said anything to her about it yet since I figured that she was just having a moment and understandably is devastated over the loss of her dog.

“This afternoon at the end of the shift I was having problems with our time card system and went to her about it. At the end of the conversation, she started to tear up and said, ‘I still blame you for killing my dog’. I was stunned and didn’t say anything.
“I struggle with standing up for myself, but I’m not going to tolerate her blaming me for her being an irresponsible pet owner and not addressing her aggressive dog’s issues. I’m not exactly sure what to do though. She is making me miserable.”
After sharing her story online, other Reddit users were quick to comment advice and tried to help the woman.
One said: “Go to HR. This situation is absurd, unwarranted and totally unprofessional.”
And another wrote: “Working for a manager that won’t take responsibility for her own mistakes is terrible. If she messes up at work, you know she’s going to be looking for a scapegoat.”
“That woman is so delusional, she really needs therapy,” added a third user. “You know when you mix dog sizes there’s a very real risk of death. It’s her dogs, she should have managed it better.”
