If you’ve been watching TV or listening to the radio over the past 20 years, then you’ll most likely know who Zoe Ball is.
Her dad is the ever-popular TV personality Johnny Ball.
Zoe has been the life of the party, a presenter on TV and, a loving partner. She has been a regular on the airways since the 1990s.
She co-hosted a show with Jamie Theakston, ‘Live and Kickin’ from 1996-1999. She then went on to become the first solo DJ host of the Radio 1 Breakfast Show which was groundbreaking at the time.
Zoe Ball in the 90s would have been someone who was known for partying and enjoying herself.
She said in an interview that going out and partying was a part of her getting stories to tell on the radio, something she says she may have taken “too literally” . She credits the late Kevin Greening for helping keep things running while she was out partying.
In 2000, she announced she was going to leave Radio 1 to focus on her family. In 2002 she returned to do radio for XFM and was there till 2007.
She then returned to BBC to host alongside Sara Cox and since then, has done different shows but remained a firm fixture on BBC radio.
She married Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim in 1999, after they met in Ibiza and were married for 18 years, having two kids.
Their marriage had its challenges, the couple split in 2003 due to Zoe admitting to infidelity but then reconciled.
They split in 2016, and then she dated a man named Billy Yates, who sadly took his own life in 2017. She said that ‘ losing him was the hardest thing she’s ever had to deal with’.
Currently, she is dating a former construction firm boss called Michal Reed.

What is Zoe up to now?
Zoe Ball has had a life of ups and downs but she hasn’t let that stop her from achieving many great things.
In 2018, she cycled from Blackpool to Brighton for Sport Relief to help highlight and raise money for depression.
She also became the sole host of the Radio 2 Breakfast Show in 2019 taking over from Chris Evans, which reaches 8.1million listeners a week. She’s also announced that she’ll be stepping down from presenting ‘It Takes Two’.
Amazing work from someone who admitted she might have been sacked by the BBC in the 90s for being too high.
