Who killed Craig Burke is the question most Vigil watchers are asking at the moment, the BBC thriller has grabbed the attention of TV viewers just like Line of Duty did earlier this year.
Set on the HMS Vigil, a nuclear sub off the coast of Scotland, the drama follows DCI Silva’s investigation into the death of a crew member which appears to be a suicide.
Things are not as they seem though and DCI Silva uncovers a conspiracy which is still yet to unravel as the show airs every Sunday at 9pm on BBC One – there are two more episodes left to catch.
Viewers already seem to be suspicious of HMS Vigil’s second in command Mark Prentice after he admitted to punching Burke in episode two.
He is played by Adam James, famous from his time on Casualty, and other favourites like Holby City, Doctor Who, and Silent Witness.
Eagle eyed Vigil fans may also recognise Adam James’ wife from another classic British TV show – The Bill.
He is married to 39-year-old actor Victoria Shalet whose other roles have included PC Vickie Hilton on BBC drama Doctors and as Carrie Bergman in Jonathan Creek.
In 1995 she shot to fame in BBC children’s series The Queen’s Nose before appearing on Blue Peter and Comic Relief.
However, it was just before she met husband Adam that she decided to turn her back on acting and pursue a new career in therapy in 2012
After missing out on a role in Holby City she made the change but says acting was still important in developing the interest.
