An East London Subway is charging customers £99 for a bottle of Tango. The option appears only when buying a meal deal at Subway Mile End on either Just Eat or Uber Eats.
When ordering either a small meal deal at the branch, customers receive a six-inch sub, a side, a cookie and a bottled drink for £8.19. The large option costs £10.79 and includes the same but with a footlong sub instead of the shorter six-inch.
For either option, the drinks are all free – except for the 1.5 litre bottles of Tango Orange and the 1.25 litre bottle of Pepsi Max. If you add either of those to your order, you’ll be charged an additional £99.
The option appears to be a glitch but the apps will allow customers to check out with the rather overpriced meal deals in their baskets. There are two Subway branches listed under ‘Mile End’ but the glitch only applies to the one located at 395 Mile End Road, not the one slightly down the street at 224 Mile End Road.
MyLondon has contacted Subway for comment.
Despite the apparent glitch, the Mile End Subway has glowing reviews from customers and holds a 4.1 rating on Google Reviews. One person wrote: “I went in to Subway as I was working in the area, staff are so friendly and greeted me warmly. One of the staff members ensured my chicken was extra hot as requested and wrapped it up nicely. The lady at the counter was really nice and got my tea ready in no time and asked if I needed anything else! The staff are what makes this places great place to grab a bite! Amazing quality food also. 10/10 thank you.”

Another person wrote “The food is excellent. The service is amazing. Would 100% recommend to come here. Best subway in London. I have been to countless subways and this is by far the one that i have enjoyed the most.” and a third said “Amazing customer service, very quick and efficient. Friendly staff!”
But not everyone is convinced by the branch as one person said “This place is shocking.” and another wrote “My children and I like having Subway, however, the experience today was very unsatisfactory.” MyLondon has reached out to Subway for a comment.
