Stunning Italian decorated with 20,000 bottles of wine and a giant cheese wheel

Nestled in the heart of Fitzrovia, the minds at beloved Italian restaurant group Big Mamma are providing customers with an endless selection of Italian grub – and wine.

Circolo Popolare opened back in 2019 and boasts not only delicious Sicilian food, but walls stacked with 20,000 bottles of wine.

Yes, you did read that right.

The 20,000 bottles of wine are the perfect decoration for this decadent trattoria – combining a harmonious amount of rustic-ness and opulence.

You’ll find a stellar collection of vino from across Italy, including 75cl servings of Pinot Grigio Rosato from the Veneto – which they describe as “Bridgerton in a bottle”.

If their OTT wine wall isn’t tickling your fancy, they have a cocktail list full of favourites as well as house twists – including the Bora Bora Spritz and Basic B*tch.

If you’re looking to emulate that picturesque Sicilian experience, the trattoria have a 60-seater outdoor terrace – perfect for soaking up the summer sun.

Big Mamma had their first hit with Gloria, a restaurant straight out of the 70’s into modern-day Shoreditch.

The trattoria focuses their menu on dishes from Sicily and the Mediterranean, but change their menu monthly to highlight seasonal ingredients.

Be sure to look out for their awesome Napolitan pizzas, including the 2 Hot 4 You and Yass Queeni delights.
