Footage of the incident on board the Delta Airlines plane at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport showed two men scrapping in the aisle while passengers look on
Passengers had to hold two men back after they fought on board a passenger jet over issues with a seat pocket.
The violence broke out after two people on the Delta airlines flight began to argue on Friday morning.
Their disagreement quickly became physical, with one man hurling punches at the other.
Footage of the confrontation shows a man with blood on his face locked in a furious embrace with the other.
Passengers watch on in horror as they tussle with one another, neither backing down from the physical exchange.
According to witnesses one of the men was restrained by others on board when he started throwing punches, ABC7 reported.
Curtis Maurice Clayton, 30, was arrested on charges of battery and interference with government property at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport following the incident, the Atlanta Police Department said in a news release.
Police said the fight began when Clayton started to argue with German Montez, the man sitting behind him on the plane.
Montez placed something in the pocket on the back of Clayton’s seat, causing the argument to spark.
Police said Clayton was “uncooperative” with officers and damaged a police vehicle during the investigation.
Perhaps due to the stresses of air travel, planes seem to be a popular place to have fights.
In July a vicious brawl broke out on a plane with punches thrown in the aisles – allegedly over a reclining seat.
Dramatic footage shows two men embroiled in the fight on a parked up plane which had arrived from New Orleans to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
They exchange punches while other passengers shout and scream and try and break up the brawl.
Shouts of ‘stop,’ ‘get off him’ and ‘return to your seats’ were heard in the shocking video.
