Arsenal face a massive summer transfer window following on from a desperately underwhelming campaign.
The Gunners missed out on European qualification for the first time in 25 seasons after finishing eighth in the Premier League, while their Europa League run was painfully ended at the semi-final stage at the hands of their former boss Unai Emery and Villarreal.
There is now major pressure on boss Mikel Arteta to make a serious challenge for a top four spot next season although this remains unlikely without a strong window of incomings.
Whilst the majority of the business is unlikely to be conducted until the conclusion of the European Championships, the club face a crucial few weeks to shape their squad.
Mirror Football has rounded up all the latest Arsenal transfer news.
Lokonga undergoes Arsenal medical
Arsenal’s move for Anderlecht midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga is said to be edging closer at the player is reportedly undergoing medicals ahead of a transfer.
Belgian journalist Sven Claes claims that the player is taking the tests ahead of joining his new Gunners teammates in a pre-season training camp in Scotland, in a deal worth €14million plus a further €3million in add-ons.
The 21-year-old, who is of Congolese descent, has amassed 69 first team appearances at Anderlecht – scoring three goals last season.
Gunners make Aouar decision
There are fresh reports that Arsenal are pursuing their interest in Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar this summer following their thwarted attempts last year.
Football.london say that the Gunners hold an active interest in a deal, which follows up on a similar report in ESPN outlining Arsenal’s intentions to sign Aouar, but that report warned that player sales were necessary first.
It is claimed that a deal would be feasible in the region of €25million (£21.4million) would be enough to tempt the Ligue 1 club into selling their midfielder.
Arsenal held a notable interest in signing the Frenchman last summer but no deal materialised, and his price tag has now notable dropped in the last 12 months.
There are suggestions that both Paris Saint-Germian and Atletico Madrid are also interested in a deal which could complicate matters.
Arsenal first-team promotion
Arsenal have confirmed that teenage goalkeeper Arthur Okwonko has signed a long-term contract at the club and promoted to the first-team squad.
The 19-year-old has been impressing with the Under-23 side at Premier League 2 level and has been included in matchday squads and training sessions with the first-team.
Okwonko – who first joined the club over a decade ago – will wear the number 33 shirt for the club next season.
