Hollyoaks airs killer twist as Sally confirms she murdered George after attack

Hollyoaks fans were stunned as they finally learned who killed PC George Kiss during Wednesday’s E4 episode of the Channel 4 soap.

John Paul McQueen was still under suspicion over the murder of his abusive fiancé, but the real killer was pretty close to home.

During the latest visit to the village, his cousin Theresa McQueen confessed to the murder after claiming he had tried to attack her.

While this wasn’t a lie, she was in fact covering for the person who really did kill George as seen in a flashback later on.

As the truth became too much, it was Sally St Claire who ended up confessing to son John Paul that it wasn’t Theresa – it was her.

A scene from the fatal incident saw her and Theresa confront George, after they found out he had been abusing John Paul.

But when Theresa threatened to expose him to the police, he turned nasty and launched himself at a terrified Theresa.

Trying to save her, it was Sally who picked up the nearby ornament and hit him over the head.

George died instantly, with Theresa and Sally left to cover their tracks.

It was an accident and can be argued that it was in self-defence, but they left his body before he was found dead moments later.

Will the secrecy about what really happened impact how likely they are to get away with it?

During the episode, John Paul urged Theresa to frame PC Smith for the crime to get away with it.

Whether this plan will stay in place now that he knows it was Sally all along remains to be seen.

Can Sally’s son forgive her for lying, given he was nearly sent to prison for something he did not do?

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6:30pm on Channel 4, with the next episode at 7pm on E4.
