Gift of Gab rapper Timothy Parker dies aged 50 after kidney transplant

Gift of Gab, real name Timothy Parker has died at the age of 50.

The 50-year-old – famed for being one half of the duo Blackalicious – passed away following a kidney transplant operation that took place in January.

His sad passing was announced by the hip-hop collective Quannum.

They shared the news on Friday by writing: “It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear brother, Timothy J. Parker a.k.a. ‘The Gift of Gab.’

“Tim peacefully departed this earth to be with our ancestors on Friday, June 18, 2021. He is survived by two brothers, one sister, many nieces and nephews, countless friends, and fans across the globe.

“We ask that the family’s privacy is respected as we mourn the tremendous loss of our dear brother.”

Rolling Stone report that the hitmaker died of natural causes even though he suffered illness in regards to his kidneys over the last several years.

The musician underwent dialysis multiple times a week, and later received a new kidney in January of 2020.
