Chloe Burrow’s ex ‘claims she isn’t being her genuine self on Love Island’

An alleged former flame of Love Island’s Chloe Burrows has come forth to suggest the blonde beauty is being ‘manipulated’ by the show and that the ‘real her’ is not being seen on screen.

A personal trainer named Lewis Fowler says he previously dated 25-year-old Chloe for five years before she appeared on the show.

Lewis claims the budding reality star even knew production staff on Love Island before she was cast on the current series – which kicked off on ITV2 last week.

The fitness professional says the “confident” woman viewers have come to know on the series is unlike the “shy and sweet” woman he claims to know.

In a somewhat explosive interview with The Sun on Sunday, Lewis claims: “The Chloe on screen isn’t who I’ve known for five years. I know Chloe has been told to play the role of a blonde bombshell trying to tempt the boys away from the other girls.

“It’s all fake and set-up. Chloe has been taken in by them, acting all confident and feisty. She’s actually timid, shy and sweet.”

Lewis took aim at a story Chloe told in the intro VT that played before she entered the villa in which she claims she had a relationship with her married boss.

He claimed: “That story was about her boss, who she fancied. It was massively exaggerated. She hasn’t worked with him for years. It’s me she always calls and texts when she’s drunk — I’ve got the receipts on my phone as proof.”

In his interview, Lewis also said Chloe will be devastated to learn she has become a target for online trolls who turned on her when she inadvertently cost fan favourite Shannon Singh a place on Love Island after just 48 hours as she broke up a couple during a twist.

Lewis said: “She isn’t spiteful at all and used to do a lot of crying on the phone to me. I don’t think Chloe realises the pressure the show can bring. She will be upset to learn she has had death threats. I don’t know how she’ll handle it.”

The Mirror has contacted a spokespersons of Love Island for comment.

Meanwhile, Chloe’s family have revealed they have turned to police to get help tracking down online trolls who have bombarded her online profiles with death threats.

Her family revealed last week: “We hate to introduce ourselves under such vile circumstances but we’ve had enough, after just 3 episodes.

“We all have thick skin but the amount of trolling Chloe has been receiving is absolutely disgusting. This morning we woke up to yet another DM encouraging Chloe to kill herself – there have been HUNDREDS.

“Have the deaths of Sophie, Mike and Caroline taught us nothing?

“Not only that, but people are flooding her inbox threatening to kill her themselves. People… this is a GAME show, there is a cash prize!”

Love Island bosses also slammed the trolls, saying in a statement: “We want Love Island to be a positive experience for all of our cast and their friends and family members.

“Last night’s episode created strong reactions but some viewers’ posts were wholly unacceptable.

“We take these matters extremely seriously and will support cast members and their families in reporting such posts. We would once again urge all of our viewers to think before posting, and remember that our Islanders are people with feelings.”

Love Island continues on ITV2 and via the ITV Hub tonight at 9pm
