Spurs fans protest outside stadium calling for board resignation

Supporters vented their anger towards ENIC and chairman Daniel Levy as they gathered on Saturday “as part of weekend of peaceful protests”.

Further protests are set to take place at Spurs in the coming week, including one before Sunday’s home game against Wolves and one before the final home game of the season against Aston Villa on Wednesday when around 10,000 fans will return to the stadium.

Anger towards ENIC and Levy has intensified following Tottenham’s involvement in the failed European Super League and there were demonstrations before last month’s Premier League match against Southampton.

As well as at Spurs, there have also been protests against Arsenal and Manchester United owners since the Super League fiasco last month when the ‘big six’ clubs in England signed up to a breakaway league.

Tottenham supporters started to arrive outside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium from around 12pm on Saturday in front of the club shop on the High Road.

Many came with flags and placards, while banners were hung from railings bearing slogans such as “£NIC out. Profit before glory” and “To dare is too dear – ENIC out”.

Another banner read: “If you don’t win anything, you have had a bad season” – Bill Nicholson. 20 years. 1 League Cup. Levy Out”.

Spurs have endured a disappointing season and look set to miss out on Champions League qualification.
